We are in a crisis! In a world of change, progress and terror live hand by hand. Who´s the good guy and who´s the bad guy? Who´s right and who´s wrong? Who has the right weapons and who´s got the wrong weapons? Who can you trust? And maybe more importantly, how should you to act in a spectacular world? Hamlet hesitates in a world of shadows and finally when he acts he kills the good guy, the father of his beloved Ophelia. We have to act and we have to act quickly; our time is running out, but still we are hesitating. Why? Maybe we need to start listening to ghosts, to find a new approach that can show us a way, a path in a ‘"time that is out of joint"’. Sometimes its the feeling that we are sitting deep, deep inside of Platon's cave, while we are passively watching our own spectacle.
Our last show 'Wishful Beginnings' is a meditation on some of these themes, trying to grasp our present and future in a very confusing world. We are diving into the post-apocalyptic future, trying to mock, shake and stir into a world of illusions and shadows. We are trying to find a way out, an entrance or a corridor towards a new relation, towards a new reality, towards an encounter with the ghost. On the Voyager spacecraft - that which was launched in 1977 in the hope of making contact with alien species - there is a golden record including greetings in 55 different languages: "Friends of space, how are you all? Have you eaten yet? Come visit us if you have time." But the one I like the most is recorded in Morse code on the same record: "Per Aaspera Aad aAstra - , through hardships to the stars". I really believe in this!
