African Film Weekend
Africa: The Preservation of the Planet and Its Cultures
This annual weekend of contemporary film features many of the most highly-acclaimed movies coming out of Africa today. A two-day festival, African Film Weekend features a mix of short and full-length feature films curated by Dr. Kasongo Kapanga of the University of Richmond and Dr. N. Frank Ukadike of Tulane University.

About the Series
The International Film Series offers Richmond audiences access to expert-curated, contemporary and classic international films uniquely paired with commentary and audience discussion. Free and open to the public, all films are screened in their original language with English subtitles. Friday afternoon screenings feature faculty-led introductions and post-film discussion. Unless otherwise noted on the International Film Series webpage, via email or other special announcement, films are shown on Fridays at 3 and 7:30 p.m. and again on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. in Queally Hall’s Ukrop Auditorium at the University of Richmond:

Getting to Campus
Ukrop Auditorium, the primary venue of the series, is located in Queally Hall at the University of Richmond. Campus maps and parking maps are available online. A limited number of visitor parking spaces are available in lot R10, adjacent to the auditorium. Visitors can also obtain a guest parking pass by calling (804) 289-8703, emailing the parking office, or by going online.
