SFI works to foster partnerships between organizations working to improve forest management in the United States and Canada and responsible procurement globally. The program addresses issues such as improving wildlife habitat management and conservation of biodiversity, avoiding controversial sources of fiber such as those resulting from illegal logging, and assisting local communities through forest education programs and green-building projects for low-income families. Qualified organizations may apply for Conversation grants or Community grants.

The Young Singers Foundation was created by Sweet Adelines International in 1992 to enrich the lives of young people through educational programs in vocal. As part of this mission, the foundation is accepting grant applications for projects that encourage education about and the performance of women’s barbershop vocal music. Grant amounts will be determined on a project-by-project basis. Eligibility is limited to individuals, groups, or organizations sponsoring barbershop vocal music activities for young women.

Field Trips

Grants of up to $700 will be awarded in January 2017.  Grants are available to applicants from the U.S. for field trips taking place between February and December 2017. The Whole Kids Foundation, in partnership with Food Corps, is accepting applications for its School Garden Grant Program, an annual grant making program that supports school garden projects designed to help students learn about topics such as nutrition and health, sustainability and conservation, food systems, and community awareness. Garden projects may be at any stage of development (planning, construction, or operation). Priority will be given to both limited-resource communities and to projects that demonstrate strong buy-in from stakeholders as well as the ability to financially sustain the garden. Grants will be in the amount of $2,000 for year-long projects.
