Just BGRAPHIC & York University present Dance REVOLT 2016 featuring Luther Brown

Dance REVOLT is a full day dance conference open to all TDSB students in grades 8-12 of intermediate skill level and up. Workshops will cover a variety of dance genres, such as: Hip-Hop, Reggae, House, Contemporary, African, Afro-Jazz, Salsa, Break Dance, Krump and much more. Students will learn about post secondary dance programs offered by York University, career development, the business of being in the Arts Industry and much more. This is an amazing opportunity for students to learn a variety of dance genres from professional choreographers, explore the world of dance as a student of York University and to connect with other dancers in their community to share their creativity and talents. This conference is a high energy, fun learning environment for all.

Who is Luther Brown

Once every generation there emerges that one special individual who is a born leader and inspires a whole movement.  That person strives for perfection and is constantly raising the level of the playing field in their respective industry, Luther Brown undoubtedly is one of these individuals. As the founder and owner of Do Dat Entertainment, Luther channeled his creative energy and innovative vision that transformed the formerly unknown Toronto urban dance community into the thriving industry it is today.  His unparalleled love for the arts has given him the extraordinary vision to capture the true essence of his abilities to be an artistic director and choreographer.

His exceptional work speaks for itself and as a result, has allowed him to work with world renown artists such as Janet Jackson, Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, Brandy, Shawn Desman, Keshia Chante, Victoria Duffield, Jully Black and many, many more. Luther has been a featured choreographer on the most recent seasons of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ (9 – 13) in the U.S. and was a resident judge and choreographer on the critically acclaimed hit series ‘So You Think You Can Dance – Canada’ for 4 seasons.
  
Most recently he choreographed the 20th Anniversary Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, Jennifer Lopez’s “All I Need” Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort, as well as Janet Jackson’s newest music video “Dammn Baby”.  He was also the artistic director and head choreographer for the special opening ceremony performance alongside Cirque Du Soleli for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

With his passion for dance and a drive to continuously challenge himself, Luther is considered to be one of the world’s best artistic directors and choreographers to date. His track record for success coupled with an amazing work ethic, Luther continues to make history by taking the vision of any project and creating a timeless piece of art.

Brandon 'Bizzy' Owuso 
Known for his electric energy and his captivating moves  Bizzy will be teaching the reggae & Hip hop fusion classes.
Kelly Gammie
Known for her hip hop counts, contemporary & ballet poise. Triple threat Kelly will be teaching a fusion of hip hop & contemporary. 

How to Register:

Schools are required to pay a $250.00 registration fee plus a $20.00 per student fee. This fee includes a t-shirt, water, snacks and participation in all of the activities for the day. 

Only TDSB teachers, principals and office admin can register students for this event.
This event is for TDSB students grades 8 - 12 ONLY.

This is not a public event.
