Hearing Screening
Volunteers are needed for hearing screenings. Screening will be conducted at Spiritridge Thursday, September 22nd. The school nurse, Eileen Crispin, is seeking 6 parent volunteers to assist with screenings, escorting students to and from classrooms, recording results, and managing students in and out of the screening. There will be ample explanation that morning to ensure all volunteers can choose a job they feel comfortable doing. Screenings will be taking place from 9:00 - 1:00, volunteer times are flexible. Please sign up here and meet with school nurse Eileen Crispin in her office when you arrive. Thank you!
PTSA Meeting
The Spiritridge PTSA will hold our first general meeting of the year on Thursday, September 15th, at 6:30pm in the Spiritridge Library. We will introduce the PTSA board, approve our standing rules and the budget for the year, and discuss upcoming events. PTSA General Membership meetings are a great way to gain more information about events at school. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our School Library Needs Your Help
Our school librarians are looking for detail oriented volunteers to assist on a WEEKLY basis in the library for each classrooms' library time. Responsibilities include:
- Checking in and out books
- Shelving books
- Other projects
Please consider signing up here to help in your child's class library time! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4da5ac23a7fb6-library
If you have any questions please email Zohrah at volunteers@spiritridge.org.
Lunch Prices Have Increased This Year
Lunch is now $3.25, that's 25 cents more than last year. So, if your child is purchasing lunch it will be $16.25 per week. Please plan accordingly. Also consider using paypams.com. It is an easy and convenient way to pay for lunches and a way for you to keep track of spending. You can also have payments automatically made to their account.
Drop Off and Pick Up Courtesies
Now that school's back in, PLEASE drive the 20 mph that is posted for a school zone and put that cell phone away! We have lots of walkers and crossing the street is dangerous especially if you're exceeding the speed limit and/or are distracted.
Please note there is no turning left out of the parking lot during our peak drop off time period, 8:45 to 9:00 a.m. This will hopefully prevent any traffic back-ups and allow everyone to get where they need to be safely and quickly.
PTSA Membership
Visit the new Spiritridge PTSA website, www.spiritridge.org, where you can register for your PTSA membership and pay membership fees online. You can also register by completing the form sent home in your child's first day packet. Thank you for supporting our student community!

New PTSA Website
The Spiritridge PTSA has a new website! If you've bookmarked http://www.spiritridge.org then you won't need to do anything differently to find the new site, as that link will automatically take you to the new page.
Please bear with us as we migrate all of our information over to the new site from our old one. If you notice things missing that you liked on the old page, then please feel free to contact the webmaster at webmaster@spiritridge.org.
The PTA is a completely volunteer-run organization, so changes as large as this do take time. We appreciate your patience as we work out any kinks with our new site. Thank you!

Box Tops for Education
Earn money for Spiritridge Elementary by collecting Box Tops and soup labels!
Clip the pink Box Tops for Education label from participating General Mills products (Pillsbury, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Kleenex, Ziploc, Huggies, and many others). Each box top is worth 10 cents that goes directly to Spiritridge. Click here for a complete list of participating products.
Labels for Education awards free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proof of purchase labels or UPC codes from Campbell’s, Pepperidge Farm, and other participating products. Sadly, Labels for Education is discontinuing their program, and this is the last year we will be collecting labels. Only UPCs with the Labels for Education logo can be redeemed for points.
Turn in Box Tops and labels throughout the year to your teacher, or place them in the collection box in the office. Watch your child’s Friday Folder for information about a classroom competition that will be held in October. The class that collects the most will win a prize!
Here are some more easy ways to earn bonus points for our school:
