1.  Program Sept. 7: Candidate Interviews
2.  Articles of Interest

1.  Program Sept. 7.  This Wednesday at noon at Mama Roja, we will interview Tom Gann, Republican candidate for House District 8 (Mayes, Rogers, Wagoner).  The seat is being vacated by term-limited Democrat Rep. Ben Sherrer.

2.  Articles of Interest.  Happy holiday, everyone.  We hope you will enjoy a day off, but if you must read something today, here are two short articles of interest.

Representative Jason Murphey (R-Guthrie) has advised state officials to “Quit producing garbage!”  His article concludes, “Instead of attempting to solve societal ills through the creation of a new government scheme, policy leaders must roll back the numerous inefficient and corrupt programs that are already on the books.  In the absence of bad government, the free market will flourish and provide solutions to societal ills much more effectively than politicians ever could.”  Read the full article here.

Historian Thomas DiLorenzo has written a book review of Nullification: Reclaiming Consent of the Governed by Clyde Wilson.  Here is an excerpt from his review:

In his new book Nullification: Reclaiming Consent of the Governed, Clyde Wilson pinpoints the folly and futility of “presidential politics” – of hoping against hope that some Great Savior will somehow restore American liberty.  Only those who are almost completely ignorant of American history could be fooled by such a farce.

The fatal mistake of conservatives and libertarians who call themselves “constitutionalists” is their belief that the federal government can somehow be persuaded to begin enforcing the Constitution and thereby limiting its own power, prestige, remuneration, and perks.  “The peoples of the states have not delegated to federal judges the power to decide what their rights are.  This is a power they have reserved to themselves.”
