Book Day 2016
It was a Book Day extravaganza last Wednesday as we celebrated Book Week. The Boost Drama Group entertained the audience as they presented, ‘A Swim in the Sea’, a book by author Sue Whiting. Our traditional parade was a kaleidoscope of colour with everyone from super heroes, princesses and fairies to Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompas represented. The Years 7 and 8 Book Expo also gave students an opportunity to dress up and have fun.
It was a fabulous day!

Year 2 in Term 3
In Term 3, Year 2 went on a history excursion. First we went to the Arms of Australia Inn Museum in Emu Plains. Here we experienced life in the past including: washing clothes and putting them through a manual wringer, churning butter, playing simple games, and writing using a slate board in an old fashioned classroom. We also got to see old forms of technology like typewriters and gramophones.

Library Olympics
We have had a wonderful term running the Library Olympics. Many students are up to Gold Medals already. A number of parents have said that the Olympics reading challenge has been just what their child has needed to give their reading a boost. A reminder that booklets need to be returned to the iCentre by Friday 9 September (Monday 12 for Mon-Wed Prep).

Parent Testimonial - and a budding drama star
We recently received a lovely story from PCS parent and Early Childhood teacher Jenny Allen:
"Mrs Marnie O'Mara supported my daughter Lily (in Year 9) through the audition process for Alice in Zombieland and we cannot thank her enough for her encouragement and dedication to teaching. Through the amazing Drama program offered as an elective at PCS, Lily has gained so much confidence to pursue her passion for acting. PCS is such a blessing."
