science made simple  September 2016
Back to school!
With a new term underway, now's the ideal time to think about science activities for the upcoming year. Also, find out how we've been working with Prince's Trust students and check out our video resource to encourage online safety.
Why not have our biomedical engineering show 'Engineering for Life' during Biology Week in October? Or, enthuse your students in astronomy and space with an activity from the space made simple team to tie in with the Geminids Meteor Shower in December.

Check out all our shows, and reserve your date now.
Prince's Trust Success
science made simple have been working with groups of students on a Prince's Trust personal development programme 'Achieve'.
Becky, Zoë and Rhys spent 2 days with each group of students, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to present and film their own science videos. A lovely video overview of the project and the students can be found here.
Each summer, the science made simple team get together for three days to share learning, company updates and new techniques or demonstrations. It's also an opportunity to celebrate staff and company achievements, and recognise all the hard work that goes into bringing science to life! Below Becca and Zoë are celebrating creating the most viewed video on our YouTube Channel.
This year, we worked on the development of new astronomy workshops (watch this space), teacher CPD, vlogging, and our aims for 2016/2017 - it's going to be a good year!
Rhys had a blast at L'isola Di Einstein Science Festival in Italy. He entertained people from around the world with our 'Science of Sport' and 'Who wants to be a Superhero?' shows. Pictured above: Rhys opening a day of the festival on the main stage.
Food glorious food!
David and Dan got stuck in at Merthyr Food Festival with food science busking! They shared the science of chillies with brave passers-by as well as taste perception tests and 'magic berries'.
These little berries effectively confuse your taste buds, causing sour foods to taste sweet!
David is returning to Merthyr soon for the 'Ready Teddy Go' festival and will be sharing the best bits of bubbles and balloons.
Staying safe online: Cyber Made Simple

Educating young people about staying safe online has never been more important. In collaboration with CGI and North Wales Police, we're promoting cyber security. Check out our video, and find out how you can browse the web in safety. This resource is also available in Welsh.
