Bees on the Land - Update.

Did you know that the Findhorn Hinterland Trust has hives on the land that it manages?  Are you interested in finding out more about bees or learning more about the art by helping out in a practical way?  Trustees John Willoner and Jonathan Caddy have over 60 years of experience between them and are very willing to initiate people into this very practical and fascinating rural skill that can be learnt on your doorstep.
Why not find out more about bees on the land and what is on offer by following this link or having a look at more pictures in our photo gallery.

The FHT Edible Woodland Garden

Many of you will know about the Edible Woodland Garden that has been established on the land.  We finally have started to put some information on the website about this inspirational project including those fabulous information boards designed by Roy Chillingworth.  What we have uploaded so far can be found here.
More will be available in the coming months and we will let you know when the regular Thursday morning work parties and garden events will start again.

Community Events

Squirrel and Bird Nesting Survey / Saturday 24th September - 9.30am-12 noon.

Red squirrels were nesting in Wilkies Wood up until two years ago with many dreys (nests) in the older trees.  There were one or two sightings this spring and evidence was found that they might be returning.  We would like to use our time this month to survey for signs of red squirrels and, if time, to also monitor whether the nest boxes provided for birds have been used.
