Weekly Energy Saving Tip #17:
Have a Low-Energy Labor Day!

  • Grilling is a classic Labor Day pastime and keeps the heat from cooking out of your kitchen! Make extra so you have leftovers for a few nights, saving additional electricity, gas, and heat.
  • For outdoor events, use LED lighting to spruce up the yard. The extra efficiency makes a big difference with lights that are left on for long periods of time!
  • Having a pool party? Keep the pool covered when not in use to reduce evaporation and heating costs.
  • Turn up the thermostat and leave the house to visit a local park - enjoy the last days of summer with a picnic outdoors!
