Public Health England has published Trust level 30 day mortality after systemic anticancer treatment for breast and lung cancer in England: Companion report. This report accompanies a paper, published in the Lancet Oncology, which examines the use of NHS systemic anticancer therapy (SACT) to examine deaths among lung and breast cancer patients within 30 days of receiving SACT in 2014 at a national level. This companion report provides trust-level analyses of the data. Both publications highlight the potential to use routine data on SACT to monitor and improve cancer patient care and outcomes, and enhance the data quality and reporting by trusts.
