Rhyme Time Training for Early Years Workers |

This training session will include an opportunity to view a live Rhyme Time session in Armadale Library and provide participants with information and tips on:
- The importance of providing a quality Rhyme Time with your clientele
- Session planning suggestions
- Presentation of sessions
- Incorporating props into Rhyme Time
This training is suitable for people who work with children at libraries, childcare, playgroup leaders, education assistants and any related group in the Armadale Early Years Network. |
Participants can book for both the Rhyme Time and Story Time Training sessions, or just one session. Lunch is provided for those attending both.

This hands on workshop for teens and young people will take common household waste items such as plastic bottles, and turn them into beautiful art.
Calvin Chee has been an artist for ten years and has experience across a number of mediums including sculpture, painting, illustration and puppetry.

Alphabeticus |
Making the alphabet fun for kids

The film Alphabeticus is a local production that partnered with Edith Cowan University and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. The film aims to make reading and writing easier and more enjoyable for children.
Alphabeticus tells the story of a magical kingdom which is home to the alphabet. There is a cast of characters that children will love including a princess, her evil uncle, and a knight.
This session is for parents and carers who want to learn new ways to help their children with reading and writing. |

Be prepared before you tackle National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and join us for this session to learn some pre-writing techniques.
Pre-writing involves developing a better sense of your characters and giving greater thought to story structure.
Rebecca Laffar-Smith, the NaNoWriMo municipal liaison officer for the south-east Perth metropolitan area, will answer any questions during this session.

Learning English Through Storytime |
LETS (Learning English Through Storytime) workshops assist families to improve and practice English in a fun educational environment.
LETS sessions include songs, rhymes and stories plus interactive activities which develop children's confidence and school readiness.
The program is suitable for children aged three to four years and their carer’s. Adults should be able to speak basic English as parents and children participate in the activities together.
This program will run for seven weeks, every Monday, 1.30 - 2.30pm at Kelmscott Library

- What is menopause?
- Is HRT an option for me?
