Retirement Reception for Steve Berg

The City of Parkville will hold a retirement reception for long-time City employee Steve Berg on Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at Parkville City Hall, 8880 Clark Avenue.

Steve was hired as Treasurer for the City of Parkville on August 1, 1980. He has been an invaluable part of the City of Parkville and will be impossible to replace. In addition to his duties with the City, he also serves as the Director of the Parkville Symphonic band and teaches astronomy classes at Park University.

Steve is retiring to spend more time with his family. Please join us at 4:00 p.m. for a meet and greet and stay for a 5:00 p.m. presentation and recognition of Steve's 36 years of service to the City of Parkville.

Fall 2016 Cleanup Events
Saturday, October 8 - Fall Clean Up Event
The fall cleanup event will be held on Saturday, October 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Damon Pursell lot at 6105 NW River Park Drive. Items collected include small limbs, leaves and grass (no plastic bags), used batteries, scrap metal, water heaters, auto parts, metal products, air conditioners without compressor, washers and dryers without motor, tires, furniture and household debris. Items not collected include paint, air conditioner compressors, washer/dryer motors and household hazardous waste (HHW) items.
 
Monday, October 10 - Curbside Pickup
The City will also provide curbside pickup on Monday, October 10. Items must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. and must be able to be picked up and carried by one person. Yard waste placed at the curb must be bagged and limbs must be bundled at a maximum length of four feet.
 
Monday, October 10 - Friday, November 4 - Extended Yard Waste Drop Off
Parkville residents can drop off yard waste beginning on Monday, October 10 through Friday, November 4 at no charge at 6105 NW River Park Drive any time Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yard waste does not have to be bagged.

Proof of residency is required for all these events and can include a Parkville sewer bill, Platte County real estate tax receipt that demonstrates a tax liability to the City, or a driver's license.
