Welcome to GWP’s 2016 Network Meeting

The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. Nicolas Delaunay: “The clock is ticking”

Caribbean framework on water security & climate

GWP Caribbean is breaking new ground with a comprehensive “Caribbean Regional Framework for Investment in Water Security and Climate Resilient Development.” The initiative is one of the first of its kind for the region and has been rolled out under the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP). International Water Law training in Africa

A training course on International Water Law (IWL) in Africa took place in Kampala, Uganda, in June. It was the second year running that GWP and its Partners organised the course, with the aim to strengthen transboundary water resources management in Africa. GWP at the Africa Drought Conference

GWP Eastern Africa was represented at the Africa Drought Conference, held on 15-19 August in Windhoek, Namibia. The theme of the conference was “Enhancing resilience to drought events on the African Continent”. The new GWP-WMO Handbook of Drought Indicators and Indices was launched there.

GWP Vice Chair and Steering Committee member, Drs. Alice Bouman-Dentener, delivered a keynote address at the High-Level Symposium on SDG 6 and Targets in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 9-11 August. Read more >>

Forecasting & modelling approaches for flooding

GWP Myanmar recently co-organised a 10-day course on flood forecasting and modelling approaches. Training on this is one of the essential requirements to be able to warn people in advance of floods. The outcomes of this event will serve as the basis for an Early Warning System. Read more >>
