CLARE STRAND AT MoMA NEW YORK

In March 2016, the 10 works entitled Skirts by Clare Strand were entered into the MoMA New York collection. Read more about this series of work in this interview with AnOthermag.com. A book of the series, published by GOST Books is available here.

GIRL PLAYS WITH SNAKE

Girl Plays with Snake, Clare Strand's third monograph, is comprised of images sourced from the darkest recesses of the artists archive in conjunction with found text and automated poetry.
The book will be launched with an 'in conversation' event with the artist and Natalie Rigg, editor of anothermag.com at Claire de Rouen, London on 28 October. Strand will also be signing books at the Mack Books stand at both Paris Photo and Offprint in Paris on 12 November 2016.


EXHIBITIONS
ALL THAT HOOPLA, FAIREST GAME AT THE FAIR in collaboration with LhGWR gallery debuts at Unseen Art Fair, Amsterdam
21 - 25 September 2016

With her interactive Hoopla project Strand introduces us to a new style of presentation and active engagement between photography, artist and audience. Experience a spectacle of flashing lights, fairground smells and false hopes during All That Hoopla: The Fairest Game at the Fair.
On Saturday 24 September at 14.00, Strand will be giving a talk about this project in the Unseen Living Room.
ALL THAT HOOPLA at LhGWR Gallery, the Hague, Netherlands
30 September - 12 November 2016
With her customised Hoopla stall Strand examines the conservative mentality towards the audience, and the market capitalisation of the medium that seems to be the contemporary standard. The work also echoes the Surrealist preoccupations with chance and carnival.
At the opening on 30 September the first hoop will be thrown by Wim van Sinderen, Senior Curator at Fotomuseum Den Haag.
PARROTTA CONTEMPORARY at Paris Photo

Clare Strand is now represented in Germany by Stuttgart gallery, Parrotta Contemporary. Her work will be exhibited on the gallery's stand at Paris Photo alongside that of Timm Rautert and Pieter Laurens Mol.
SCULPTURED REALITIES
European Month of Photography  at FeldbuschWiesner and Rudolph Gallery  Berlin

The galleries Feldbusch Wiesner and Jette Rudolph present four artists who work at the interface between photography and sculpture. Three works from Strand's Gone Astray series will be on display.
