A.M.A. is short-form for Ask Me Anything. Meet new Director for Education, John Malloy, and the new superintendents for the schools in Ward 15 Toronto-Danforth: John Chasty, Lucy Gianotta and Mary Jane McNamara at Wilkinson on Monday, September 19, 2016, at 7:00 pm. Curriculum Night on Thursday
Curriculum night is this Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. After a brief presentation in the gym, parents will visit the classroom(s) for an overview of the planned academic activities for the year. See the website for more information.

As the weather starts to turn cold, students are reminded that they must have athletic shoes to participate in gym class. ​

The cross country team has been hard at work and interested members will take part in their first meet on October 6, 2016, at Ashbridge's Bay. Please check Mr. Kasaval's website regularly for program updates, especially if your child is taking part in activities before school. 

WSCC: September Meeting - DATE CHANGE

The first Wilkinson School Community Council (WSCC) meeting of the 2016/17 has been rescheduled to Monday, September 26th in Room 3 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.

Childcare is available upon request. All parents/guardians are welcome, you do not need to be a member of the council to attend. 

Pizza Lunch Sign-Up Reminder
Remember, volunteers will be outside Room 3 on September 20-23 from 8:20 to 9:00 am to collect pizza lunch forms and payment. You do not have a copy of the form, you can download one here: Pizza Lunch Sign-Up.

Teachers and office staff cannot accept these forms. Payments can be made by cash (exact change greatly appreciated!) or by cheque payable to "Wilkinson School Community Council."

Parent Council Nominations
Curriculum night also serves as the official nomination period for the Wilkinson School Community Council (WSCC). Learn more about the council on our website. If you would like to get involved, please complete this nomination form and return it by email or drop it off in the parent council mailbox in the office no later than Wednesday, September 21, 2016. 

Update from the Wilkinson-St. David Sponsorship Group
Exciting news!  The family of six the group is sponsoring will arrive in Toronto on September 21, 2016. Thank you to all of those who generously donated money and other gifts in kind to help prepare for the family's arrival.

Volunteers are still needed to provide direct settlement support; people with some daytime availability in particular. A police clearance record and a two-hour AURA training are requirements for direct involvement with the family. You can check the AURA website for the next available training.
