 School's back in session. Summer brought our kids new confidence and interests, and Sunshine Sam wants to celebrate! The store's filled with eye-candy from around the world to inspire us all to find our next adventure this Fall!We've added a new section to the store... FLAIR! Funny/Cool buttons and patches, created by artisans from the U.S., Canada and Australia, are one-of-a-kind accessories that are both conversation starters and show off the wearer's personality.

The annual Best of Suburban Essex Contest is well underway. We were honored to win the Silver Medal in the Toy & Hobby category last year, but this year we are going for the Gold!  Sunshine Sam had its first Game Night this summer, and it was awesome! We filled the Groov Cafe and played 8 new games that meet Sunshine Sam's tried and true Game Night criteria:
- Game Nights are a great way for families to bond. Especially, if electronic devices are put away. So, be realistic, and aim for 20 minutes of playing time.
- No adult wants to play a game that bores them to tears or involves getting covered in cheese or other sticky substances. I know I don't!
- Kids can tell when you are "phoning it in", for lack of a better phrase. Only play games YOU want to play. Other games can be saved for playdates.
- No child wants to play a game that they can't understand in 2-3 minutes or less, and they WON'T pretend to be into it...because they're kids. All of our Game Night picks are explained quickly and easily.
- One size does not fit all! Every family is different, so try out a variety of games that will appeal to participants of all ages.
So... you missed our epic Game Night? What do you do? All of our games are available play at our blue game tables in the store OR, gather some friends, and host your own game night at Sunshine Sam after hours. We'd be glad to arrange this for you. |

 What am I in love with right now?
A year ago I discovered the Himeli, a gorgeous hanging textile art that novices, like myself, could make out of carefully cut and measured paper straws, yarn, tassels and even a pom pom or 2.
