Classes, Classes, Classes

First Steps classes began this week (9/12/16) and it’s not too late to join one. There are a few spots left for classes each day as long as you have the right age child. We still have spots in Time for Twos at our new location at Haisley Elementary on Thursdays too. Check here to see what’s available and give Sherri a call if you’re interested. 734-994-2300 x53186

Preschool Art, Dance, & Readiness classes begin with Saturday classes on 9/24. I’d like to highlight a few for you.

Artful Expressions is a new art class offered at the Cultural Arts Building. If you’ve never taken a class from Lesley Crescenti, you’re in for a treat. The CAB has both an art studio and a dance studio and Miss Lesley uses both of them for this unique class that supports creative expression.

Mindful Me Did you know there is a skill that can help your preschooler develop better attention, self-regulation and social skills? It’s called Mindfulness. Join Grace Helms Kotre in a fun, engaging class for your preschooler and you. Each class develops 1-2 basic mindfulness skill and includes games, movement activities, read-aloud books and crafts to support each skill.

Hello Toes is our ballet class for 3 year olds. Each child learns the basic ballet movements, French words for each of them and how to pay careful attention to their body. The transformation from the first class to the last is truly amazing and the teachers are so patient and skillful.

Painter’s Pallet is another unique class that offers many different paint mediums to explore. Miss Debbie includes a little bit about the great artists like Van Gogh and Monet too. Give this class a try and learn a lot while having fun.

Spread the word about the 3rd annual Trike-a-Thon!

October 8
9:00–11:00am
Preschool & Family Center
2775 Boardwalk Dr

Trike-a-Thon is a wonderful Family Fun event where children and parents bring bikes, trikes, strollers and anything with wheels to ride around in the huge parking lot at the Preschool.

Parents have fun helping, chatting together and watching all while drinking the coffee we provide. The first 76 children get a special t-shirt (orange or green) plus everyone may have bananas, bagels and water.

Trike-a-Thon is a fundraiser to First Steps’ scholarship fund and is sponsored by our amazing PTO. Please go online and share this pledge site with family and friends so they can support you. We ask every family for a minimum $5 donation and you may pay when you come if you’d prefer.

https://firststeps-trikeathon.org/

All children of any age are welcome to participate, As an added bonus, we have bike helmets for sale ($7) thanks to C.S. Mott and Ann Arbor Dental Specialists will be back with lots of fun activities too. Bring your family. Bring your friends and help spread the word to your community. Thanks!
