Recruitment fair: Tuesday 20th September

We are holding a recruitment day on Tuesday 20th September.

As the new plant begins to take shape, we have a range of job opportunities at the plant. We’re looking for enthusiastic, committed people to fill roles across the facility – come and talk to our project team and find out more.

We have a range of job opportunities on offer, including shift operators and mechanical technicians at various grades. Training will be provided for many of the roles.

Members of the project team will be on hand at the event to meet the public, explain the recruitment process and answer questions about job opportunities.

Roles will also be advertised on the careers section of the
DONG website.

The recruitment day will be held at Hartford Hall, 81 School Lane, Hartford, Northwich, CW8 1PW from 14:30-20:00, on Tuesday 20th September.

Construction latest

Construction of the REnescience Northwich plant continues to progress on schedule. Approximately 90 per cent of the ground works are now complete. In addition, we have completed all historic ground contamination remediation - this is the process of removing pollution or contaminants from the ground.

The works for the anaerobic digestion tank farm are now complete and the installation of the pipework is underway, along with the installation of the roofs on the tanks. The tanks have also been successfully tested for water tightness.

The gas engines and the electric transformer containers have arrived on site and work is underway to install and configure these. The steelwork for the sorting hall has been erected and the roofs on both the digestate treatment building and the sorting hall are also now in place.

Foundations for the REnescience bio-reactors have been completed, with delivery of the bio-reactors planned for late October / early November.

Construction work is continuing on the bunker walls, and further steel-frame erection for the loading hall is underway. Cladding of the walls on the digestate treatment building will commence later this month, followed by mechanical equipment installation inside this building.

If you have any questions about the construction schedule, please email us.

Local Liaison Committee

A Local Liaison Committee was formed earlier this year to gather feedback and opinions from local residents and provide information to the community during construction, through commissioning and into the facility’s operational phase.

Although construction work is expected to cause minimal disruption, DONG Energy is committed to maintaining regular communication with residents and businesses to answer any questions, listen to their feedback and keep them informed of progress.

The next meeting will take place on 4th October. If you would like to find out more about the work of the Local Liaison Committee, please email us.
