They're our way of celebrating and saying thanks for the huge difference you make to our local areas. Taking account. We've conducted our own research into the local voluntary and community sector to find out how big it is and just how much it contributes to making our society and local areas better. Did you know there are over 2,300 local charities and groups which have over 27,600 volunteers and over 6,900 employees? Together they contribute about £127 million to our local economy, every year...more
