Recognizing Indigenous Literacy: Foundational Learning for Indigenous Adults
How can we work with indigenous learners? Come and join us for to hear about 'investment strategy and framework for Indigenous literacy’, a Calgary Learns funded research project.
Who should attend: Current funded initiatives/programs; future funded programs; those interested in pursuing partnerships that look at foundational, literacy or essential skills building in their programs; those interested in cross-sectoral partnerships; those interested in learning about the research project and findings.
- Learn about building intentional Cultural Authenticity and Integrity into your literacy and foundational learning programs
- Come to know the role and responsibilities of Allyship as a non-Indigenous agency or individual
- Understand the teachings from our Elder Advisers that will guide future funded programs of Calgary Learns, and what changes to expect in future funding proposals
- Celebrate with us the strategic direction and hear how we will move forward with it
We will have a few display copies on hand at the event, but will post the document in it's entirety on our website after the launch, along with a draft of our response to the recommendations.
