Applications open for Innovative After Hours Grants Program 2016-17
Eastern Melbourne PHN (EMPHN) is offering grants of up to $20,000 to general practices and pharmacies to enhance access to clinical care and medication dispensing in the after-hours period.
These grants are an important part of our strategy to address gaps in after-hours access to primary care services.
PATIENTS’ medical referrals will be a click of a doctor’s mouse away under a new electronic system being trialed in Melbourne’s north.
Plenty Valley and Northern Health eReferral Project, led by Plenty Valley Community Health Service, is one of three Victorian health services consortia selected to lead the pilot program.

Assessing Fitness to Drive 2016
The National Transport Commission and Austroads have released Assessing Fitness to Drive 2016, a new edition of national medical standards for driver licensing, which will come into effect on 1 October 2016.
A detailed discussion of the changes is included in the project report which can be downloaded from the Austroads website.
An electronic version of the publication can be accessed from the Austroads website www.austroads.com.au, together with supporting information for patients and health professionals.
The new edition comes into effect on 1 October 2016. From this date all driver licensing assessments should be undertaken according to the updated edition.
