5 Healthy Ways to Enjoy Fall.


Fall will be here soon (September 22nd)! There is something about the change of seasons that offer a sense of new beginnings and for NMFIT fall is our favorite time of year.

So how can you make this fall season a healthy one? Below are 5 tips to get you started if you want soak up every bit of this season the healthy way! 

1. Don't hibernate. The weather is still nice enough to get outside and enjoy the weather. With the leaves changing and the crisp air your morning walk or run will get an instant reboot! 

2. Pick some fruit! From apple picking to pumpkins (yes pumpkins are a fruit) there are tons of local farms that offer excellent deals for groups.  Make it a fun outing for the family or with friends. 

3. Go seasonal with your groceries. You may already be familiar with a few of the fall staples like apples and pumpkin of course but now is the perfect time to experiment with new healthy ingredients to shock your taste buds!  Items like Quince are a yummy fruit that tastes like a mix of pear and apple. 4. Set your intentions early! Don't wait until January 1st rolls around to set goals for the new year.  Starting thinking about how you want to create and maintain a healthy well-being from now.

5. Enjoy the season! Soak up every bit of fall from getting ready for Halloween (healthy treats only) to planning your Thanksgiving don't rush this time of year, enjoy each day as it comes.
