Update on Longmont's Flood Recovery and Protection Efforts
This week marks the third anniversary of the devastating flooding that impacted much of Longmont and surrounding towns in 2013.
The Longmont Times-Call commemorated the anniversary by reporting on the City’s Flood Recovery Office in this article.
Many flood recovery projects in Longmont have been completed—visit LongmontColorado.gov/flood-info to see our community’s progress and view recovery updates.
Most work that remains is scheduled to be completed as part of Resilient St. Vrain, an extensive, multi-year undertaking to fully restore the St. Vrain Greenway and improve the St. Vrain Creek channel to protect people and property from future flooding.
This month’s CityLine newsletter provides an update on the first two sections of Resilient St. Vrain construction work, which are scheduled to begin later this fall.
Finally, read more about our City’s transition from recovery to protection and resilience in this Times-Call OpEd column.
