Nordisk Panorama Film Festival 2016 - Opening Night.
The 16th of September marks the night to role out the red carpet when Malmö, Sweden, will have all the glamour of a Film Festival Opening Night. Nordisk Panorama Film Festival will celebrate the best of Nordic short and docs with a maxed out festival programme between 16-21 September. The Opening night will be dressed in black & white and flavored with the game of chess since the opening film is the Swedish premiere of the Norwegian doc "Magnus" - about the chess prodigies way to the top.
Over six days the festival venues, as well as the streets, will be filled with screenings and narratives from all over the world, seminars and business events alongside parties for the young and old. Numerous directors and filmmakers will be present in Malmö during the festival to participate in Q&A-sessions in connection to the screenings of their respective films. In addition to the large number of screenings, Nordisk Panorama Film Festival is also home to several thought-provoking seminars, talks and master classes destined for both the public as well as for visiting delegates from the documentary and short film business. Spegeln, Panora, Slagthuset, Babel, Stadsbiblioteket, Malmö Konsthall, Malmö Muséer, Hylliebadet, Stadsarkivet, Blå Båten and several other Malmö venues will be filled with festival content between 16-21 September 2016.
The festival programme is available on the web, as a physical programme, a digital pdf program or in the Nordisk Panorama App.
This year, the programme presents the Nordisk Panorama Awards 2016 (Best Nordic Documentary, Best Nordic Short Film, Best New Nordic Voice and the Audience Award), a Nordic championship in documentary and short film production, and a Special Programme that spans over themes such as young nordics, special industry programme, norway in focus, swedish sin, digital disruption, animation and 24 hour cinematic life puzzle.
To name a few goodies from the programme there are, in addition to the foremost Nordic short and documentary films, a short film walk projecting films on the facades of Malmö named A Wall is a screen, Poolcinema combining swimming and film screening at Hylliebadet, the Bike Like Zlatan Tour following the footstep of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his hometown by bike, VR- and interactive experiences in The Orgasm Room, Welcome to Krabstadt and VROOM, Knit-a-long Cinema at Cinema Spegeln, Boat dinner and film discussion in Our Dinner With, Doc Lounge Special with eatable insects theme screening competition film "Bugs" and much, much more.
On top of this the festival days will have plenty of room for social breaks with a Hang out at Cinema Panora all week and of course parties. Such as the above mentioned Opening Night, the Saturday club at Babel known as SATURDAY NP FESTIVAL CLUB – NP GOES WOOHAH! and on Tuesday the 20th - the Awards Gala.
Nordisk Panorama Film Festival will do everything in its power to make sure that Malmö is flourishing with festival spirit for all of those with either an interest in, curiosity for or professionals within documentaries, short films and filmmaking.

The audience can vote for any of the Nordic short films and documentaries competing in the main competition programmes as well as any of the new Nordic films in the special programmes by using voting cards that are handed at the screenings.

ABOUT NORDISK PANORAMA FILM FESTIVAL
The annual Nordisk Panorama Film Festival is hosted by the City of Malmö, Film i Skåne, and Nordisk Panorama. Since the start back in 1990, the festival has been touring around the 5 Nordic countries. Since 2013, however, the festival has been permanently located in Malmö – a city that puts a lot of interest and effort into the film industry and is home to a large short and documentary film audience. The festival provides a unique opportunity to benchmark the Nordic short and documentary film scene, to network with the Nordic film industry, to watch movies made by recognized film producers, and to discover new promising and aspiring talents.
