CPS construction update
Following a summer-long construction project, we are so excited to unveil the renovated Helen Parkhurst Lecture Hall (116 CPS), in honor of the education pioneer. Watch Video | First Class Photo
In addition, a new gathering space outside the lecture hall and the CPS Cafe will be dedicated to Emeritus Dean Joan North. Save the date for the Joan North Place grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 3. Watch Video
Construction Update: The CPS Building is in the final stages of the Energy Bond Fund Program (aka the McKinstry Project). Please bear with us for another week as the contractors will need access to classrooms and offices to check for appropriate air volume for the HVAC system.

- Family and Consumer Sciences Professor Susan Turgeson featured on Wisconsin Public Radio's Joy Cardin Show on Sept. 6
- Trevor Roark from Adventure Tours among local group that secured nearly $400,000 for the City of Stevens Point improvements that will empower residents to have healthier, more physically active lifestyles.
- Professor Kristi Roth co-authors 12th edition of Principles and Methods of Adapted Physical Education and Recreation textbook.
Alum earns state teaching award
Alumna Pam Gresser '97 was named Wisconsin Elementary Teacher of the Year! Gresser, who teaches fifth grade at Rothschild Elementary, will receive $3,000 from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation. Read More

Koua serves health needs of Hmong
Koua Thao, a health science-health care administration major, helps serve the health needs of Hmong families in Central Wisconsin and spread cultural awareness and diversity. Read More

Summer camp focuses on Hmong culture
We visited Prof. Maysee Herr and a few other familiar faces the first week of August at Camp Phoojywg-Friend, a two-week camp that offers basic Hmong cultural lessons that focus on the ethnic group’s history, music, folklore, art and language in Wausau. View Photos
