While cleaning her new house on Orca’s Island, Inara discovers in a secret compartment behind a stair a beautiful embroidered silk sleeve which seems to tell a story. Waylon! One Awesome Thing
By Sara Pennypacker
This is the first book in a new chapter series featuring a fourth grader with a passion for science. Fans of the Clementine series will be thrilled with this new series to explore, but it is not necessary to have read the Clementine series first. Waylon is not a sequel but is definitely a spin-off since Waylon is Clementine’s science-obsessed classmate. Both boys and girls ages 7- 9 will appreciate this intelligent and thoughtful character.
