2nd annual HillsDOer Day brings volunteers together

HillsDOer Day on Saturday, October 1, brings neighbors together to give back and embrace our hometown pride. Volunteer at Hamby Park, Shute Park, Brookwood Library, and other community locations.

Apply to serve on a board or commission

The City of Hillsboro is recruiting volunteer applicants to serve on these boards and commissions starting in January 2017:

  • Budget Committee
  • Audit Committee
  • Library Board
  • Arts and Culture Council
  • Historic Landmarks Advisory Committee
  • Parks & Recreation Commission
  • Planning Commission
  • Planning and Zoning Hearings Board
  • Utilities Commission
  • Transportation Committee 

Applications are due by November 14. Get more details from the City’s website, or call City Recorder Amber Ames at 503-681-6117.

  • SHARC has reopened following annual maintenance and improvements.
  • Read the fall edition of the Hillsboro Police Department's Neighbor to Neighbor newsletter.
  • City staff will share information, answer questions, and explain the planned improvements for the Jackson School Road Project at a community open house on Wednesday, November 9, from 5 - 7 pm at Jackson Elementary School.
  • Discover alternative ways of commuting at the Transportation Options Fair on Wednesday, September 28, from 12 - 2 pm.
  • The Port of Portland's Hillsboro Airport Roundtable Exchange (HARE) will meet on Thursday, October 6, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Hillsboro Civic Center in Room 112.
