Will Glos Rd WI exist next year?

There's lots of change in the committee and we urgently need to fill the following roles:

  • President chairs the meetings
  • Secretary writes up minutes, postal correspondence and Avon/National relations
  • Treasurer the woman with the cheque book, does the monthly banking and books
  • Or we can find a role to suit you!

If we don't get more members stepping forward then there's a chance the Glos Rd WI might not exist next year!

We only meet for no more than one extra meeting per month and there's always cake and drink involved! You'll also have chance to help devise next year's programme, suggest events, put forward campaigns and get involved in a really great dynamic bunch of women! So please get in touch if you think you can help.

Looking Ahead

October Meeting AGM and Swishing

For October's meeting we'll be swishing! You bring along your unwanted clothes, bags and shoes, and then take away anything you fancy from what other members bring along! So please start having a clear out!

Badge Design Competition

As it's our 5th Anniversary this year, and we thought it would be nice to commemorate it with a traditional enamelled pin badge. We are opening up the design to members, so submit your designs to the committee!
Here's some examples from India's WI badge collection.

They don't need to be final artwork, your ideas on paper or screen can be submitted. We are looking for modern or traditional designs, check out Pinterest for inspiration. Closing date extended to the end of September.

Well Done Hayley!

She did it!

Massive thanks to our very brave (or crazy!) member, Hayley Lambert, who heroically jumped out of a plane in August and raised over £500 for Mothers for Mothers. Brilliant!
