Airbnb - The antidote to modern, MASS produced tourism

"We know that every traveller is different and every host is unique. Through the Airbnb platform, people don’t just visit a destination when they travel, instead they can truly live there. We’re making this happen by connecting millions of hosts and guests around the world who, when they meet, create unique travel experiences every day." said Julian Persaud, Regional Director, Asia Pacific, Airbnb during his interview with Inside Tourism.

He will be speaking about the story of Airbnb and how destinations and organisations work with them to adapt with the growth of tourism in the upcoming PATA Global Insights Conference.

Slowdown in flight frequencies from Europe to Southeast Asia

Scheduled flights from Eastern and Southern Europe to Southeast Asia are expected to decrease 7.6 percent and 4.6 percent respectively in 2016 compared to 2015. Flights from Western Europe to Southeast Asia are also expected to reduce by almost 10 percent this year. Northern Europe is the only region in Europe expected to see an increase in numbers of flights to Southeast Asia (+4.5%) in 2016, a factor driven mainly by strong growth in routes from the UK.
