Norrie McKenzie of Georgia Power to Speak at Ocean Exchange
Norrie McKenzie, Vice President of Renewable Development for Georgia Power since August 2013, will speak at Ocean Exchange 2016. In his role at Georgia Power, Norrie leads the implementation of the company’s procurement activities for renewable generation, including solar, wind and biomass.
Norrie joined Southern Company in 1999 to lead the company’s natural gas procurement for its growing gas-fired generation fleet. From 2003 to 2013, he was Southern Power’s chief commercial officer, directing the company’s expanding wholesale activities, including business development, acquisitions and asset management.
Prior to joining Southern Company, Norrie worked for Sonat, a major interstate pipeline company, where he held various positions in onshore and offshore pipeline construction, gas supply procurement, exploration planning and gas marketing. A native of Fort Valley, Ga., Norrie earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
