Dear Team,
The week of September 12 was a busy one for the Youth Life Foundation of Richmond. First, the Learning Centers opened back up for after-school programs on Monday. It was great to see the children back again!
Second, we had our first Giving Week. We were met with a challenge last year – there would be no more Amazing Raise. The Community Foundation let us know in early 2016 that after five years of putting on this huge 36-hour giving campaign, they had met their goals and were not going to do it a sixth year. It was a hard phone call; but since we rely on God for our finances, it became a great opportunity.
After a week of 10% nights at Northside eateries, a 48-hour Amazing Praise campaign with 3 other Christian non-profits, and a Richmond Kickers night-out and fundraiser, I am pleased to say we raised a total of $15,313.92! We are so thankful for each person who participated.
Our goal was to raise $20,000 for a new vehicle for our middle and high school students so if you would still like to give towards that goal you can do so here. Thank you!

Meet Nathan
Nathan Clark is starting his first year on the Youth Life team! In May of 2014, he graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in International Studies. In August of 2014, he went to live in China for two years where he worked as a history teacher. Prior to teaching full time, he worked eight consecutive summers at local camps ministering to youth of all ages. During all of his time at camp he realized his calling was working with young people. His passion and drive in life is to help students see their potential and understand that God has a purpose for them. He values the work Youth Life is doing in the community and is excited to now have a part in it. During his free time he enjoys reading at coffee shops, cooking new recipes, and hiking in the beautiful mountains of Virginia.
