HIGH HOLY DAYS SERVICES ON THE INTERNET

As we did last year, TBI will again offer access to our High Holy Days services live, over the internet. This year we will stream directly to our Facebook page at facebook.com/tbipomona. In addition, we've just been made aware that our new machzor, Mishkan HaNefesh, is available as a Kindle e-book through Amazon.com. The combination of the live video and the new book (either physical copy or e-book) should allow those not able to join us in person to more fully experience the beauty and spirit of our services.

HIGH HOLY DAYS REMINDERS

The High Holy Days begins this Sunday! So, IF you haven’t sent in your membership renewal forms, NOW is the time to send them in so that you receive your High Holy Days tickets right away. Your High Holy Days ticket packet also includes request forms for the following High Holy Days programs, all of which were due last Friday but still could be honored: Book of Memory; Guest Ticket Order Form; Handicapped Parking Permit; Special Needs Seating; and Children’s Program.

At High Holy Days 5777/2016, TBI will begin using the brand new machzor (prayerbook), Mishkan HaNefesh. As is the custom at TBI, High Holy Days worships are expected to have their own copies of the machzor; there will be a limited number of machzors to loan to visitors. Mishkan HaNefesh is a two volume set at $40 per set. Please log onto Mishkan HaNefesh to order your sets by credit card or ACH. You will be informed when your copies of Mishkan HaNefesh are available for pick up.

For the full TBI High Holy Days schedule log onto 5777/2016 TBI High Holy Days.

17TH ANNUAL HIGH HOLY DAYS FOOD DRIVE
Rosh HaShanah to Simchat Torah
In Honor of Ethel Steinberger, Chair of TBI Social Action Committee (1999 – 2016)

Please help us reach or surpass our goal of more than 1,000 bags by filling a bag or as many bags as you can with non-perishable food items.

Together we may go from strength to strength.

13 million children and a total of 36 million Americans suffer from hunger each day. Closer to home, 80,000 adults and children rely on local food banks. Your generous donation will help provide food locally. Please help fill the shelves in honor of Ethel.

PREPARING FOR THE HIGH HOLY DAYS
WITH WOMEN IN THE BIBLE

Facilitated by Dr. Tammi Schneider

This class will examine three of the key stories read  on the High Holy Days: the banishment of Ishmael, the Sacrifice of Isaac, and the story of Hannah, all with an eye towards the role of women (or their absence) in each story. Please contact the TBI Office to RSVP.
