Rootball keeps you up to date on Pando Populus and thickens the connective tissue between change-makers.
Here’s the latest:
The new Pando Populus
We’ve reskinned the whole Pando Populus website and reorganized content. Come, take a look! You can still find everything you loved before, but with a new structure that expands opportunities for growth.

Enjoy the new look and feel. Over the coming weeks, keep an eye out for new resources and features.

The biggest structural change on the website is a wholly new platform devoted to Pando Hubs. Pando Hubs are growing and spreading across the southland – and now there’s a way to keep up with the growth.

Find the Pando Hub nearest you, sign up on behalf of your organization to become a Pando Partner, and volunteer for service as a Pandomaniac. Chat on topics that relate to growing a more ecological civilization – one street address at a time.
Speaking of content, many thanks to California State Senator Carol Liu for helping to facilitate our inheritance of her Green21 content, as she retires from office and her website goes down. We are honored to help carry forward the work and include rich green resources, focusing especially on climate change and water, on PandoPopulus.com. Content will begin flowing in over the coming weeks.
Have you ever wanted to check out Wraps? Thanks to the generosity of Wrap.co, the creative work of Braley Design, and the editorial pen of Amy Goldberg, we’re using Wraps to tell amazing stories about each of our Pando Hubs and spread the word about volunteer opportunities. Take a look at our first four Wraps – and watch for more (Wraps work on any device, but are especially fun on your phone):

Natural Ivy
- Carson Community Garden
- Emerald Necklace
Huerta del Valle
And if you’ve ever wondered what the philosophy of management has to do with building a more ecological civilization, check out blog editor Kevin Madden’s fascinating interview with Mark Dibbens, a Pandomaniac from Australia who sees management as being at the hub of it all.
New members of our Board of Directors will be helping us take advantage of opportunities ahead. We welcome Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz, business entrepreneur Josie Maran, and legendary designer John Bielenberg.
Paul Koretz
Councilmember Paul Koretz has long been at the forefront of environmental and social justice issues in Los Angeles and helped open our inaugural conference at Pomona College in June of last year. Andy Shrader, the Councilmember’s Director of Environmental Affairs, Water Policy, and Sustainability, joins our Board of Advisors.
Josie Maran
As founding CEO of Josie Maran Cosmetics (JMC), Maran has built a thriving enterprise with sustainability and a purpose culture at the core. Sasha Calder, JMC’s head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Engagement, joins the Board of Advisors.
John Bielenberg
John is a big part of the reason why Pando Populus is “Pando Populus.” A founding partner of Future Partners and a national leader in design for social good, he is our Creative Director.
Got some time on your hands? Volunteer now to help make ecological civilization happen in Los Angeles County – one street address at a time. Write: Mervis Reissig at Merv4Peace@gmail.com.
