"Minnesota is a center of gravity for Islamist terrorist recruitment," said National Security Analyst Ryan Mauro.  "A House Homeland Security report published last year found that it is the state that produces the most "foreign fighters" at 26 percent. To put that in perspective, California and the NYC/NJ area each produced only 12%," Mauro said. 

"Islamist terrorists like ISIS recruit from the appearance of success," said National Security Analyst Ryan Mauro.  "We have a problem where we have to report on these attacks, but we don't want to give the enemy oxygen. The answer is to provide broader context. Every mention of the Minnesota attack should include the fact that ISIS is losing territory in the Middle East.," said Mauro.
