In sha Allah our PTO Fun Fair is scheduled for 9/22/16 from 3:30 - 6:30 pm. Rides will be free, food will be available for purchase. Please attend to support our PTO. Contact Sr. Nosheen for any questions- (281) 912 7805.
Please note that Basketball Practce and Tutorials will not be held on that day.

Parents are reminded that Everest Academy is a nut-free zone. Please make sure not to send any items with nuts to ensure safety of our staff and students.

Students must be picked up promptly after dismissed. After-school charges start applying effective from 3:45 for Pre-K & D-K; and from 4:00 pm for KG-8 on non-tutoring days and from 4:15 pm on tutoring days.

PSIA Try-outs: Oct 10-14

PSIA Try outs be held from October 10-14 after school. Click here to view events' details. Sign-up sheets will be posted tomorrow in sha Allah, deadline to sign up is Monday, 9/26. Practice material will be provided for Try-outs.

Dismissal is DEAR Time

Reminder that dismissal is DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time for our KG-8 students. Parents please send a book with your student to read while he/ she is waiting to be picked up.

Field Trips

In sh Allah, Field Trips are coming up! Filed Trip forms are now available in your Quickschools Parent portal. Deadline to submit forms is October 4th.
Please note the dates and venues per grade level.

PK- DK: Houston Zoo: October 26th, 2016 - $30 Grade
KG, 1st- Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center: October 19, 2016 - $25
Grade 2nd, 3rd: Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center: October 26th, 2016 - $25
Grade 4th-5th : Houston Museum of Natural Science; November 16th, 2016 - $30
Grade 6th-8th: Houston Museum of Natural Science; November 9th, 2016 - $30

Below are some guidelines for the field trip day .

Please keep your student at home on the day of the field trip if he/she is not going.
If your child attends the field trip, please don't order school lunch for that day. You can go into your parent portal to cancel for that day.
School will not provide lunch or water, students are to bring bagged lunch labeled with their name in disposable containers.
Students are to dress in school uniform, Please be cognizant of weather and dress your student appropriately.
We request students not to bring any money or visit the gift shop as school will provide souvenirs to all participating students.
We will be leaving school at approximately 8:15 am; all participating students must be in school by 8:00 am.
Students will be dismissed at regular time; the usual dismissal process will be followed.
Except for Pre-K, School has arranged for ample chaperons to supervise students, In sha Allah. Parents are requested to allow the teachers supervise students during the trip; and not arrive to field trip location or school to accompany their student.

DUA Basketball Game @ 10/20

Mark your calendar! You are cordially invited to our district-level Basketball Scrimmage Game. In sha Allah, we are teams from Al Hadi, Darul Arqam North, Darul Arqam Southwest, Everest Academy, Houston Qur'an Academy, ILM Academy, and Peace Academy.

Who: Boys and Girls teams
Participating Grade Levels: 3rd-8th
(High School will be accommodated if there are enough participants)

Our PTO will run a concession stand. Menu and cost sheet will be shared along with final scrimmage details by October 7, 2016 in sha Allah. Stay tuned!

In sha Allah in September, students will be encouraged to:
- Be accountable for what they do, for their actions, and behavior.
- Do the right thing at the right time, so others can trust and depend on them.
- When they choose to make a poor decision, they admit to it, apologize for it, and then take steps to rectify it.
- Be Proactive. Act in advance of a future situation, rather than reacting after events have transpired. Take control and making things happen rather than just adjusting to a situation or waiting for something to happen.

Hadith of the Week

Narrated Aisha: Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Do you know who will go first on the Day of Resurrection to the shade of Allah, Who is Great and Glorious?” Then on receiving the reply that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) knew best, he said, “Those who when given what is right accept it, when asked for something give freely, and who judge in favour of others as they do for themselves.”
