Indonesia first to export licensed timber to EU

On 15 November, Indonesia will become the first country in the world to export FLEGT-licensed legal timber and timber products to the EU, an important progress in the global fight against illegal timber trade.

Greater protection for rosewoods

Efforts to halt unsustainable rosewood trade received a major boost after a CITES committee recommended to list rosewood species on Appendix II, which includes species that may become threatened with extinction unless their trade is closely controlled.
