MHWWA Newsletter

SEPTEMBER 2016

It has been an exciting few months in the men’s health and wellbeing sector.

In this edition of our Newsletter you will receive an update on how we are progressing with gaining political support for a WA Men’s Health Policy, an update on some of our key projects and events, and a thought provoking piece on a young man’s reflections on the journey to manhood.

Please let us know if you would like to make a contribution, promote an event through the newsletter or give us any helpful feedback for improvement.

Yours in health and wellbeing,
The Men’s Health and Wellbeing WA Team

The State of Men's Health

A WA Male Health Policy is a critical step in making sustainable improvements in the health and wellbeing of our boys and men across the state. Securing government commitment is fundamental to achieving this outcome for the community of Western Australia. It is not an easy journey but we continue to push tirelessly in this direction.

We have commenced a comprehensive sector needs analysis process to gain a current and clear understanding of the needs of the male health and wellbeing sector in WA.  The information we gather is going to be significant in helping to represent the sectors needs to the government, identify priorities and fund important initiatives to improve male health and wellbeing outcomes.

Also, read an inspiring piece from Zac Northeast, our Intern from the University of Notre Dame; reflect on how we can help our members; and find out how you can support the important work that we do!
