SUMMER-FALL 2016        MARKETING AREA NEWSLETTER

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from Fordham University in New York City. It is hard to believe that summer is over!
Our marketing faculty have continued to do rigorous, managerially relevant research with impact and published in peer-reviewed journals. Under the Research section, you will see summaries of some of the selected publications of my colleagues.

During the summer, our faculty attended various conferences and presented their research in front of diverse audiences including both academics and practitioners. Our area had another prominent presence in the 25th annual Frontiers in Service Conference in Bergen, Norway, where it was announced that the Gabelli School of Business will host next year’s conference at Fordham University in New York City. You can read more details about the conference and find the link for the call for papers under the Hot Topics section.

While we have a great team of full-time faculty in the marketing area, we also work with an impressive group of part-time adjunct colleagues. Those business professionals with extensive industry experience deliver specialized courses on cutting-edge topics. In this issue of our e-newsletter, we highlight two of our part-time colleagues and their classes. Under the Teaching section, you can read about the Design Thinking course delivered by Martin Dominguez and the Multiplatform Advertising Sales course taught by Greg Licciardi.

We are very excited about holding the 5th edition of the Let’s Talk About Service (LTAS) Conference on December 8 and 9 at our brand-new business school building at the Lincoln Center campus, in the heart of Manhattan. This conference will offer two great workshops on the contemporary research methods used by service researchers. All the five – past, current and incoming-editors of the Journal of Service Research will discuss the methodologies available to service researchers in a panel moderated by the editor of the Journal of Service Management. You can read more about the LTAS Conference under the Hot Topics section.

Finally, the most recent U.S.News and World Report has ranked Fordham marketing area at #12 in the undergraduate specialty rankings, up from #16. I would like to thank my colleagues for making this happen!

As always, please accept this e-newsletter as an open invitation to share your ideas or suggestions for possible collaborations and joint projects with our area and/or individual faculty members. You can always contact me at
kabadayi@fordham.eduI hope to hear from you!

Best wishes,
