News from RPC - Go back to the Minors, beginning a sermon series on 4 of the Minor Prophets...starting with Jonah

"The Minors: Jonah"

Jonah 1

This Fall we will be returning to the Old Testament, hearing God speaking through the so-called "Minor" prophets. Minor, not as in "not important", but as in "short".

Today we start with Jonah, the well-known story of a man swallowed by a great fish, and lives to tell the tale. It is also a story of God's Amazing Grace, shown to Jonah himself, and to the worst of the worst...

Well you don't need to. None of us needs to...

Operation Christmas Child.  We will once again be collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child in November.  So while you are out shopping during the back-to-school season be sure to pick up some school supplies for the shoeboxes.  School supplies such as spiral notebooks, loose-leaf paper, marble books, erasers, pens and pencils are desperately needed.  I heard one story of a little girl who hoped she got some erasers in her box, because she had once piece of paper to use for school, so every day she had to erase the work from the day before so she could use her paper over again.  – Joy Heywood

Worship in Foster Hall will continue through the month of September.  Worship will return to the Sanctuary on October 2nd..

Church Bazaar.  Our church bazaar will be held on November 5th.  Please consider saving your gently used and new items for the church bazaar.  Donations can now be accepted, please place them on the stage in Foster Hall. l Everything is being accepted:  new items, books, movies, furniture, music, toys, holiday items, jewelry, craft items and craft supplies, etc.  Please make sure that donations are clean and not broken.  Spread the word--tell your friends and neighbors.  If you are unable to bring the donations to church and need the donations picked up, contact the church office at 215-342-2112 and arrangements can be made.
