Message from the President

Padraig Walsh

Dear colleagues,

This edition of the newsletter brings several updates from the ENQA Secretariat, including information about staff changes, the recent publication of the Guidelines for ENQA Agency Reviews, and four upcoming events.

I would like to kindly request that those readers employed by QA agencies within the EHEA please consult with your colleagues and take a few minutes to complete the ENQA survey on external quality assurance of recognition. Members of the ENQA working group on recognition are working hard to improve this area of our work in order that we may better comply with the ESG 2015, and every agency’s input is valued tremendously.

I would also like to especially mention the reopened invitation to nominate candidates for the ENQA Board (the election for which will take place during the October General Assembly). Following June’s original invitation, the ENQA Secretariat received three nominations for the three open positions before the 9 September deadline. One of the nominees, however, is no longer eligible to run for election, so the invitation to ENQA members to nominate candidates has been reopened, with a new deadline set for Friday, 30 September, midnight GMT.

Lastly, as the newsletter is a vital element of ENQA’s communications strategy, I would like to invite every reader to let us know how we’re doing. Your comments are highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Padraig Walsh
President of ENQA
