Bregman out, could be back for playoffs

Houston 3B Alex Bregman, who left Wednesday's game limping shortly after stroking a double, has been placed on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain. MLB.com says he's likely out for the rest of the regular season, but there's a chance he could play again if the Astros make it into the playoffs. Starting with his July 25 MLB debut, the 2015 draft pick had only one hit in his first 34 at-bats and no RBIs. But Houston manager A.J. Hinch stuck with him, and Bregman responded, hitting .309 with 8 HRs and 32 RBIs the rest of the season.
