A Creative Solution
Activities/Other Affiliations……. I have concentrated on IWN (and the Women’s Division—Irving Chamber before that) so as not to “dilute” my efforts. I have recently become more heavily involved in The Main Place, now serving on the board as communications director.
Interests…..I’m an avid reader. I love crossword puzzles. I like disaster films, science fiction movies, and waayyy too much tv J. I adore surfing the web – researching either one topic or another – or just looking things up …… just because I can! J Oh, and then there’s comedy – gotta have me some funny stuff.
Family….. I have one child – a son, Kevin, born in December 1985. My brother, Alan (who, if you remember, spoke to IWN early last year on Personality Colors) and his family – the world’s best niece and nephew- and an awesome sister-in-law.
Greatest honor received…. My son sent me a mother’s day card several years ago with this message: “I should have listened to you more. Turns out you were right all along.”
If I could change careers, I’d… be an attorney
I’m happiest when …. Researching some subject online, making a new form, or reading a really good book. Actually, I’m really happiest when I remember that Jesus is ultimately in control and this messy world we live in will someday be perfection. Psalm 46:10: Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the heathen; I will be exalted in the earth.
The last book I read was… W is for Wasted by Sue Grafton
I wish I knew how to … play guitar really well.
The four guests at my fantasy dinner party would be… Tom Selleck (yeah, Billie, me, too), my mom and dad, and my son. OH MY, can I have TWO parties???
My ideal vacation is…a coastal setting in a non-humid climate
My favorite restaurant is…You mean, besides Sharon Johnston’s house? I recently discovered a home-style place in Carrollton called Babe’s Fried Chicken that has a very limited menu, but oh, so delicious food.
If I won the lottery, I would…. wonder how in the heck that happened as I don’t buy the tickets! But if I did and if I won, I’d sigh, offer a prayer of thanks, pay off my son’s college loans, put the bulk in savings I can’t easily touch and live off of the dividends, give a lot away - starting with family, pay off debt, buy a house and spend just a little “willy-nilly.”
