FOR THIS SUNDAY  |  NEW ON THE BLOG

MISSIONS PRAYER BREAKFAST: The Missions Committee will host a breakfast on Sunday, October 2 at 9:15 am during the Christian-ed. hour in the Fellowship Hall. Kathy Bailey will share an update from her Uganda trip in July, and we'll hear about advancements in our ministry to Uganda and where Redeemer is headed in our partnership with that country. We'll spend time praying together seeking the Lord's direction for our next move in that country. Light breakfast snacks and coffee will be provided. So join us for this exciting time in our church history to hear what God is doing through Redeemer in Uganda. (The children will meet in the sanctuary and courtyard that morning, and the middle school and high school students will join the adults for breakfast.)

INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH: Do you like pizza? Ever played ping pong? Do you love meeting and welcoming internationals? What if we could mix those three things together into a single event--wouldn't that be great?! Join the inaugural round of Pizza and Ping Pong tomorrow, September 23 at 7 pm in our Fellowship Hall. Many internationals from MUSC and their families have been invited and are looking forward to this event. Bring your favorite pizza toppings and a beverage to share. We'll have both tournaments and casual games available for play. If you think you'd enjoy interacting with people from around the world--in a fun, relaxed environment--email Kurt Brewer to RSVP. (And if you already texted him about your interest, you can simply show up!)

BRIDAL SHOWER OF BLESSINGS: Join the women of Redeemer this Saturday, September 24 at 10 am at Beth Plante's house (934 Ravenswood Dr., 29412) for a shower of blessings for bride-to-be Kate Bailey. We'll pray for her and Roy, offer advice, and fellowship over brunch. Read here more about our special showers of blessings.

COMMUNITY GROUPS: Find your spot in your local community group, as we seek to be a family on mission together by loving the Lord and each other and looking for ways to reclaim and restore lives in the communities in which God has placed us. Check our Community Groups page for the latest updates, or contact Kurt Brewer if you need help connecting with a group in your area.

CHURCH PICNIC: We're planning an old-fashioned church picnic on Sunday, October 23 right after the worship service in Hampton Park (at the gazebo, near Rutledge Avenue and ball fields). Bring your own picnic basket and blanket, and pray for good weather! Bring outdoor games to play like cornhole or bocce, and there will be organized games for the kids, too. So invite a friend or neighbor, come build community, and get to know Redeemer folks in other community groups!

MORE WOMEN'S EVENTS: Mark your calendars!

  • Baby Shower of Blessings for Austin Freeman, Ashley McAdams | Sunday, October 9 at 12:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall
  • PCA Women's Conference | Friday-Saturday, October 28-29 in Charlotte, NC, contact Frankie Bennett for details

CONCERT FUNDRAISER: Redeemer's own Kyle Babb (choir director at First Baptist School of Charleston) invites you to a Pops! Dessert Concert in our Fellowship Hall on Saturday, November 12 at 8-10 pm. They'll sing popular favorites from The Jackson 5, Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, and more. This fundraiser will help with some of their travel, music, and equipment expenses for the year. It's a family-friendly show, though Kyle suggests kids should probably be 8 years old or older. Your $30 ticket includes a reserved tableside seat for dessert and the concert and dessert and beverage service. Purchase tickets here.

WATCHMEN ON THE WALL: Sign up for a block of time to pray for specific needs in our congregation using this prayer schedule.
From Isaiah 62:6
I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
    give yourselves no rest.

CHILDREN'S WORSHIP: If you're interested in getting plugged into the Children's Ministry without a huge time commitment, then teaching Children's Worship during the sermon is a great way to minister to our 4- and 5-year-olds and their families. Ashley Lowry does the preparation work from crafts and snacks to stories and songs; volunteers just execute her plan. It's a great way for couples to serve together or any pair who wants to have fun with our little learners. Contact Ashley for more details.

INQUIRERS' CLASS: Interested in hearing more about Redeemer's mission and history? Join our next inquirers' class, a first step toward church membership, on Saturday, October 1 starting at 9 am in the Fellowship Hall. RSVP and get more details here.

KEITH & KRISTYN GETTY IN CONCERT: From In Christ Alone to By Faith, we sing plenty of the Gettys' songs at Redeemer. Hear them live on Saturday, October 22 at 7 pm at CSU's Lightsey Chapel. Find more details here.

LATEST CHURCH DIRECTORY: Our newly updated church directory is available on our website, protected by the same password. If you need the password, email Gray Morgan or text her at 843-478-7127. And now we have a newly updated picture directory!

PRAYER REQUESTS: Our Session longs to pray for our congregation, and many of you offer your requests on Sundays through the attendance pads. We've also developed a web form for you to submit prayer requests you have during the week. If you'd like prayer, please use this form.
