SUDS Spring Breakers!

We're halfway through the slots of this semester which brings us ever closer to the end of the year! This week we've got Slot 10, the highly anticipated General Meeting where we'll vote in our Major production for 2017 and a bunch of attends. How much more could we cram in before the mid-semester break? Not much! It's week 9!

SUDS Presents: The Book of Job

Wednesday 14th September - Saturday 17th September & Wednesday 21st September - Saturday 24th September

The Book of Job is one of the most fraught texts of our culture. It is a book from the Old Testament. It is a book about why we all suffer. It's about those times when you think "I thought things were good but now they're bad. Damn."

Also portions of it don't make sense.

Despite this, truly astonishing poetry remains, rendering the text painfully compelling.

We turned it into a play.

It features God. God is a big man in the sky. He is a big dude and he is extremely scary. He has a big beard and is very very strong. I like God but I'm not sure he likes me :(

SUDS GM: Pitching 101

It's the moment you've all been waiting for. Finally, after weeks of planning, meeting, ideas-sharing and more, we're ready.

It's time to vote in the show that will be our 2017 Major Production!

The Major Production is your chance to put on a big show with all the support, resources and time you could ask for. Past majors have included The Threepenny Opera, Hamlet, Midsummer and this year's Black Hands | Dead Section. You get a boosted budget, at least 9 months to plan, prep and rehearse, and the full support of a society full of creatives.

If you are intending on pitching for major you should have already been in contact with this years exec and sent through a rough budget outline to sudsthewash@gmail.com

If you haven't yet, not to worry! Send an email to sudsthewash@gmail.com with your ideas, any indication of interest is more than enough!

---

At the GM we will also be voting in our Summer Officer for 2016/2017! The Summer Officer is responsible for the coordination of the Summer Season (which we will be voting in at a GM a few weeks from now, see the schedule below) and liasing with shows, the Secretary and more! It's a great chance to get a taste of organisation, shows and SUDS in general! No experience required, just a willingness to be around during summer to make the season the best it can be!
