Prior to the last Federal Election, the Government announced plans to develop a Health Care Home model across Australia. In recent weeks the Commonwealth have announced aspects of the introduction of the model, with more information to come. Health Care Homes will be introduced, first as a trial in 2017, with an aim for a thorough evaluation before continuance and or expansion. 10 Primary Health Network regions have been identified for the trial and the regions include two in SA, being both the Country SA Primary Health Network region, as well as the Adelaide Primary Health Network region. Pain Management Unit Survey

Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) in collaboration with the University of New England has published a ground-breaking research report on Understanding the Exposure and Impact of Suicide in Australia. This national research project highlights the far-reaching impact of suicide as a public health issue in Australia. The research is based on the input of more than 3,000 respondents from across the country who have been affected by suicide. This valuable information allows us to better understand how individuals are impacted by suicide and to inform where funds and expertise are directed in suicide prevention.

Uni TAS and the research team at the Menzies Research Institute are conducting a survey on Hypertension which is targeted towards General Practitioners.  The survey involves completing a quick 15 minute questionnaire on self-monitoring of blood pressure in patients and its effect on the management of Hypertension. 
All information provided will be kept confidential and used only for research purposes.

‘My heart, my life’ (MHML) is a secondary prevention resource for patients with coronary heart disease. It provides practical support for their heart condition and care after hospital discharge. Funded by SA Health, it is freely available to primary care services.
My heart my family our culture
‘My heart my family our culture’ (MHMFOC) is tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at risk of or who have coronary artery disease. It has health professional and patient components.
