Fellowship Nominations
View this email in your browser
Dear Fellows,

The CAE Board, acting on the recommendations of an ad-hoc Fellowship Revision committee, comprised of Fellows Yves Beauchamp, Douglas Ruth and John Dinsmore, has implemented some important modifications to the Fellowship nomination and election process for the current year. You can read detailed information about the changes to the Policy here:  CAE Nomination and Election Policy 2016.

The most important changes are:
  1. The biographical details of the nomination form may be completed by any party, including the nominee, however the final two sections of the forms, where a qualitative assessment of the nominee is presented, must still be completed by the Proposers.
  2. The attestation for the Seconders has been modified so that they no longer have to personally know the nominee.
  3. The CAE Secretariat will no longer perform a preliminary review of the nominations, and
  4. A new category, International Fellows, has been created.  These individuals will not have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency and will not have voting privileges.  There annual fees will be approximately 2/3 that of Active Fellows.
The revised guidelines and forms are available here https://www.cae-acg.ca/information-for-members/.  If you have already been working on, or have completed a nomination for the current cycle using the old forms, please contact me at kgoheen@cae-acg.ca to discuss the simple solution.

Yours sincerely,

Kevin Goheen PhD, P.Eng,
Executive Director
