Permit Issued!
Yesterday, September 29, was Michaelmas. This is a holiday where we summon our courage and strength, stand tall, and face the dragon. Some may say we tame the dragon, some may say we slay the dragon. The dragon is emblematic of the forces that are working to oppose our highest ideals, our most moralistic efforts and often are embodied in day-to-day distractions that disrupt the noble course.
Yesterday, September 29, was the Planning Commission Hearing for Golden Bridges School and our new campus design at 203 Cotter Street. After 2+ hours of public comment, the commissioners voted unanimously, 7-0, to approve the project.

We especially would like to thank our Site Development Team, a group of four parents who have been working on this project, from design to permitting, for over 2 years - Harris Epstein, Abhi Ghosh, Kate Schox, and Scott Snibbe. Their dedication to this project was and continues to be passionate, selfless, and thoughtful.
We would also like to thank the 81 speakers who came with beautiful and moving statements in support of the school. They all took off work, put their hearts on their sleeves, and ultimately swayed the commissioners. 57 of our own parents spoke, 16 of whom have only been with the school for 3 weeks. This is a testament to the passion and commitment these parents have for this school and this education. We also had 6 teachers speak after spending the morning with the children. Thank you all for your voices and your words.
We look forward to the next phase of this project - furthering the design, gathering the funds, and breaking ground! We hope you will stay tuned and follow our progress.
