Did somebody say PARTY??

We certainly did!

Let’s be frank, we’ve had an EPIC run so far. Like Thursday night’s launch which blew minds at the Watt Space opening. Or last night’s Slam Poetry Regional Final which saw the performances of Rose Khosh (first place) and Carl Williams (second place) earn them both a space in the NSW Australian Slam Poetry final in Sydney later this month.

And would you believe, Saturday is all about the party vibes! Strap on your dancing shoes, prep your stomach for more laughs and expect the unexpected as TiNA enters Day 3!

See below for the fantastic line-up of events that today brings you. To make it easier on yourself, have you downloaded the TiNA app to schedule your favourites?

ENTER THE LABYRINTH: NYWF BALL

SATURDAY I 20:00 – 24:00
NATIONAL YOUNG WRITERS FESTIVAL

CBD Hotel / 348 King St & 471 Hunter Street

NEVER TRUST A CREATIVE CITY

SATURDAY I 19:15 – 20:15
CRACK THEATRE FESTIVAL

Pivot Dance / 22 Newcomen St

Emma McManus and Maria White have created a new performance about the uncomfortable role that artists play in gentrification. Pop up galleries ‘renewing’ neighborhoods, local councils encouraging urban ‘rejuvenation’ through culture, and artists no longer being able to afford to live in the inner city. What a tricky predicament we find ourselves in! McManus and White will unravel the terrible formula: art (plus) city (equals) gentrification

PANTS ON THE OUTSIDE PARTY!

SATURDAY I 19:30 – 23:30
Crack Theatre Festival

The Royal Exchange / 34 Bolton Street

The Crack Theatre Festival's annual 'hoe' down: this year with a focus on super-awesome women. Wear your pants on the outside or come as your most esteemed female superhero (interpretations on this theme obvs welcome!). Rock out to lady-fronted bands and music sensations! This is the time to truly cut loose and get a bit weird in the true CTF spirit!

FUTURE OF……. JOURNALISM

SATURDAY I 12:30 – 13:30
NATIONAL YOUNG WRITERS FESTIVAL

Vinyl Cafe / 4 Perkins St

Since the rise of the internet, journalism has been an ever-changing beast. But lately it's seemed a little...more ever-changing. Fairfax job cuts, the rise of sites like Medium and clickbait. what does all of this mean for aspiring journos? These journalists will ponder where we go to from here.
HYSTERIA: THE SHAKE UP

SATURDAY I 11:00 – 23:30
CRACK THEATRE FESTIVAL

Pivot Dance / 22 Newcomen St

Hysteria is a full day of women in theatre. Programmed in direct response to an overwhelming majority of female applicants to the Festival, and our answer to the absurd question 'Where are the Women?' Hysteria shows exactly where. They're here. Making awesome art. So, let's talk about that.

THE POLYTICS OF VOICE

SATURDAY I 15:00 – 16:00
NATIONAL YOUNG WRITERS FESTIVAL

Vinyl Café / 4 Perkins St

This forum discussion will examine the ‘big think’ questions we interrogate consistently as young writers. We believe in theatre as a vessel for the unspoken, a voice for the voiceless and a way to make the invisible visible.

WRITING AND DISABILITY CAUCUS

SATURDAY I 14:00 – 16:00
NATIONAL YOUNG WRITERS FESTIVAL

Studio Bliss / Shop 16 & 17 Market Square Mezzanine, Hunter Street Mall

It's not always easy to be a writer with a disability. And sometimes it feels nobody's making it any easier for you. It's easy to feel alone, overwhelmed, or angry when spaces aren't inclusive. This is your roundtable to share, commiserate, rejoice or plot.

Supporting the development of brand new work, CTF presents a short work-in-progress showing by Danielle Asquith. Using a physical exploration and the words of real workers and families, to explore the of challenges and acceptances, of a fly in fly out (FIFO) life.
