Designing places for people

Commercial Hub in Leyte and Private Residence in Cagayan de Oro
This proposed commercial hub offers a unique shopping and dining experience in Palo, Leyte.
Outside of the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila, Palafox Associates and Palafox Architecture also offer services in various parts of the Philippines and elsewhere in the world.

We are currently working on the architectural design of a commercial hub in Palo, a neighboring town of Tacloban City in Leyte. It is a two-storey structure with retail stores and restaurants. It features wide windows that are fundamental to be able to attract curious passersby. The store has 10-15 seconds to catch their attention because that is the average walking time.

The hub's wide entrance provides a visual corridor to the rest of the development. It also doubles as a space for convergence or activities like mini concerts and exhibits, among others.

Further down south in Cagayan de Oro is a proposed private residence with a modern design. It features a gym, office, game room, and family room that will cater to the various interests and activities of a growing family. It also allows the family to enjoy quality time within the comfort of their home. The spacious floor plan also accommodates a guest room  in addition to the three main bedrooms.

True to our development principle, both projects prioritize the overall end-user experience or 'people first'. Places for people should offer flexibility to a range of activities.
The design of this private residence in Cagayan de Oro features a game room, gym, and family room for more opportunities to enjoy quality time.

Architecture Over Adversity: Tacloban City

Students from the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) in Tacloban City organized a workshop on finding a solution to urban congestion and the changing environment, with discussions led by Architect-Urban Planner Felino A. Palafox, Jr. last 16 September 2016 at the Tacloban Bible Community Function Hall.

EVSU students also organized a guided tour of Tacloban City and had the chance to converse with Palafox on architecture and planning considerations toward resilient cities and communities. The Provincial Governor of Leyte, The Honorable Dominico L. Petilla, also met with Palafox and the EVSU students.
